11th Week in Lobos

Well this was a good week overall with lots of little events that I will do my best to remember.

So this last Tuesday we had a full day of work and just did contacts and had a few lessons that weren't too great and then as is custom, we went to the chapel at about five o clock to have the branch activity and branch council. We walked in and David my convert was there and he had found out that they elected Bergoglio as Pope. Haha he was soooo frustrated. He had been saying that he would be ok with any pope just not an Argentine. And lo and behold...the pope is Argentine! So it has been an interesting week due to that little change in the catholic church. We have noticed a bit of a change in the people we talk to. Most are catholic and I think we have had at least 20 people talk to us and ask us our opinion about the Argentine pope. We just say yeah we don't really watch tv so were not too updated on that. Haha it works well to evade the conversation.
Wednesday we had district meeting and we talked about woking on building Christlike attributes. There is a really cool attribute activity in Preach my Gospel that I challenged them to do every week and see how they have changed and can improve. Also random side note, is the distribution center here has started selling mini Preach my Gospels here like the one Susie Smart gave me (thanks Susie!) and they are all the rage with the missionaries.
Thursday we had interviews with Presidente and it went really well. We just talked about what I would like to accomplish before I finish the mission. Anyway that night we found an awesome family to teach! Marcello, Sandra, Ayelyn, and Agustina. They are all really great and the parents are really interested! We had a great lesson about the restoration and we definitely felt the spirit. Not sure that they realized it was there though. But it was a good end to the day!
Friday was long....we just looked and looked and looked for people but no one would let us in. We were a bit discouraged but had a good day planned for Saturday. We went out in the morning and like the 3rd door we knocked we talked to a middle aged couple that was pretty interested and let us in. They actually are having a lot of problems right now keeping their house and paying for the debts they have. So we helped them and taught them about prayer and how it can help them make the right decisions and ask God for his help to solve things. It was a great lesson really I loved it! The rest of the day was spent trying to get some indicators done. Nothing too exciting. Although we ate lunch with flia Fernandez and they made us empanadas which were just fantastic! Afterwards we went with them to visit some of the young women (we have 0 active young women) because the hermana got called as the young womens' president. It was pretty fun actually. When we're with them its just kinda like hanging out with friends and talking about whatever.
Sunday was a good day but the Branch President is still on vacation so my companion and I had to both speak again along with the stake seminary president. It was really good I just talked about prayer and gave a little bit of a refurbished version of my farewell talk. It went really well. We also had about 5 investigators there so that was a highlight as well. One of them is Maria Ester. She is the one that's like 85 and is just progressing amazingly. She loves church and just isn't able to read the Book of Mormon so its a bit hard to teach her and help her get a testimony of that. But we just have to teach her really slowly and repeat things so she remembers it. She is great though and as of now is set for baptism the 31st of March.
Anyway I'm kinda out of time and would keep writing but can't. Haha I have seen some of my friends' letters and they are like 2 paragraphs....haha so sorry i dont write more mom! haha love you all so much though and thanks for all of your letters and support over the past year and a half or so! Cuidense.....

QUESTIONS:

How did you like the bus ride to Marcos Paz and what happened that the train wasn't working? Well it was definitely a lot longer than the train.....3 hours compared to 1 hour 45 minutes. The train just gets cancelled like once a day. It's just luck if it's the train you need or not.
How is your work affected by the new Argentine Pope? People are pretty proud of it so they will tell us ¨Soy catolica apostolica romana.....y amo a mi papa....¨ its interesting how they didnt go to church before but now that the pope is Argentine they go....very very interesting.
Where are your Ecco black shoes now and what's their story? On my feet :) They are holding up well still. a bit worn on the soles but not bad at all. I have taken pretty good care of them so they are in good shape.
What do you call those hot dogs? in Spanish they are called ¨panchos.¨ I know in other South American countries like Peru they call them hot dogs though. haha very original
Can you believe all of the nit-picky questions you've answered for me for so many months!?  yeah its just fantastic. it helps me think about things a bit more though so its good. Love you momma!
